Mumuye Language Project

The Mumuye people live in Taraba State in the northeastern part of Nigeria. They number about 400,000. The main towns are Jalingo, Zing, Monkin and Pantisawa.

The Mumuye language consists of 4 main dialects and about 15 minor dialects. This web site focuses on the linguistic and the anthropological features found in the years 1967 - 1992 in the area of Jalingo.
